Membership Equity Plans

Member Equity Investment Plans

Among the requirements for membership in Doylestown Co-op is an investment in the co-op’s equity. Being a co-op member means being an owner in a very real sense. When you pay this investment, you are purchasing equity in your co-op, your share of the bricks and mortar, as well as the future of Doylestown Co-op. But since this money is an investment, and not a fee, if you leave the co-op, you can get back your share of equity in the co-op as spelled out in the proposed by-laws.

Each fully vested household invests $400 in equity in the co-op.  If you pay in full, you receive a 10% discount, making your equity payment $360.  We encourage everyone who is able to become fully vested upon joining. The more members who demonstrate this faith and commitment to the co-op, the sooner we can make our store a reality.

If you prefer to pay in installments, you can pay your $400 equity membership in four annual payments of $100. The Doylestown Co-op is meant to be a community store. If the two payment schedules above are a hardship for you, please let us know, as a third option is available.

To select your payment plan, please return to the membership form. You can mail a check to: Doylestown Co-op, PO Box 951, Doylestown, PA 18901, or you can pay online using Paypal. Your mailed check saves us the PayPal fees.
